Project Engineer for Gasoline Engine Calibration

The Task
Stricter legal framework, growing environmental awareness among the public, rising energy prices and the globalisation of markets require an ever increasing focus on the development of modern engines. In order to keep pace with this rapid development, our client is expanding its Engine Management System (EMS) team and is looking for a Project Engineer for Gasoline Engine Calibration. Since the company operates from several of sites, different job locations can be offered . 
In his or her capacity as a Project Engineer, the future holder of the position will be responsible for the application and development of the electronic management system for gasoline engines. 
The focus of your work, depending on skills and experience will be on the fields of exhaust emissions, fuel economy, diagnostic functions, or driveability. You will develop, calibrate and validate the engine control unit in the vehicle and on the test station (dynamometer). This also includes test drives in different climatic zones.
You will work together with other project engineers in a team. Besides, you will be an important customer interface and the primary contact for the development departments of the automobile manufacturers during ongoing projects. 
The Requirements
Candidates for this interesting position are diplomaed, graduated engineers with a background in the corresponding professional field. The ideal candidate has collected several years of professional experience in the respective area of engineering after completing his or her degree (mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering etc.). You have a good understanding of the working processes associated with gasoline engines and possess sound knowledge in calibrating engine  management systems concerning emissions and driveability or on-board diagnostics. You are quite familiar with the relevant rules and regulations of the exhaust gas legislation. Also you should be well versed with tools like Matlab, Simulink, Inca etc.
Due to the global area of activity of the company, good English language skills and a willingness to travel are a must. You should be open to taking trips abroad within the scope of test or trial runs or to visit customers. Moreover, this position requires professional attitude that translates into impeccable manners towards customers and the ability to depict complex situations and circumstances in a short and precise manner.
The company also expects a maximum level of customer orientation. You should be able to work independently and creatively and exhibit a limitless willingness to transfer your knowledge and experiences to the team.
